History and ownership
The Company was established in 1997 and formed as a joint venture between Norlandia Hotels & Resorts and Boende Förnyelse och Sverige AB. Today, the Company is a leading supplier in public procurements for healthcare and care services in Norway and Sweden.
Norlandia Care is today owned by Nordic Healthcare Holding AS where FSN Capital and Hospitality Invest AS each own 44.75%. The remaining part is held by management and board members.
Norlandia Care has been preferred in 7 tenders during the past year. We have opened 5 nursing homes in Sweden and 2 patient hotels in Norway. All together we now operate 19 units, 10 in Sweden and 9 in Norway. In addition we are building a patient hotel in Tampere Finland. We are on our way of becoming a substantial provider.
The market for private providers in elderly care and patient hotels is developing very slowly. However, the expected increase in the elderly population and the need for increased efficiency in hospitals will influence the development positively. We are prepared and planning for growth and are aiming to become a provider of both buildings and care services. We are also developing our care concepts emphasizing individual approach and quality of life and health for our residents and guests. We are developing new care offers and are entering new markets.
Norlandia Care chose to sell out the home care business in 2010, in order to focus more on our core businesses; elderly care and patient hotels.
